How it works
Traditional surgery creates a new drain pathway for fluid to escape. Newer minimally-invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) use tiny tubes or stents to improve drainage. Surgery takes 30-45 minutes.
Is this right for me?
Patients with severe disease not controlled by drops or laser, or those who can't tolerate drops.
What to expect
Recovery takes 4-6 weeks. Vision may be blurry at first. Pressure drops 40-50%. You still need to use eye drops, usually fewer of them.
