EyeQ AI (“we,” “our,” or “the Service”) is a free patient education tool that explains common eye conditions in plain language across multiple languages. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Who we are

EyeQ AI is operated by Dr. Danial Asim, OD. The Service is provided for general patient education and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified eye care provider with any questions about your eye health.

What we collect

We collect limited, aggregate information to understand how patients use EyeQ AI and improve the experience:

Usage analytics: pages viewed, conditions searched, language selected, time on page, device type, approximate location (city/region level), and referring website. Collected via Google Analytics 4.
Session recordings: anonymized recordings of how users navigate the site, including clicks, scrolls, and mouse movements. Collected via Microsoft Clarity. Personal information visible on screen is automatically masked.
Search queries: terms users enter into the search bar are sent to our analytics tools as aggregate events to understand common patient questions. We do not link search queries to identifiable users.

We do not collect:

Names, email addresses, or contact information (unless you voluntarily contact us)
Medical records or protected health information (PHI)
Account credentials (the Service does not require an account)
Payment information
Precise location data

How we use this information

To understand which conditions and languages are most useful to patients
To identify and fix usability issues
To improve content quality and accuracy
To produce aggregate, anonymized trend reports (e.g., regional patterns in eye health questions)

Cookies and tracking

EyeQ AI uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics. When you first visit, you'll see a cookie consent banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is collected. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Third parties

We share aggregated, anonymized data only with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf:

Google Analytics (Google LLC) — usage analytics. IP addresses are anonymized before processing.
Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — session analytics. Personal information visible on screen is automatically masked.

We do not sell your information. We do not share data with advertisers, insurers, employers, or healthcare providers.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months and then automatically deleted. Session recordings are retained for up to 90 days.

Your rights

You can:

Decline cookies via the consent banner on first visit
Opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
Clear cookies through your browser settings to reset your consent choice
Contact us with questions or requests at the email below

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request access to or deletion of personal data we may hold about you. Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, we typically do not have data tied to individual users, but we will respond to good-faith requests.

Children's privacy

EyeQ AI is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the Service, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

The information on EyeQ AI is for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and should not be used to diagnose or treat any condition. If you are experiencing eye pain, vision loss, flashes of light, sudden floaters, eye trauma, or other concerning symptoms, seek care from a qualified eye care provider or emergency services immediately.

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
